COVID-19 Update
Greetings My name is Shane Keating and it has been my sincere pleasure to represent the people of Ward 12 since 2010. On October 16, 2017 I was re-elected for my third term. We have made tremendous progress in Ward 12 over the last 7 years, and I’m looking forward to what t he next 4 years will bring!
The boundaries for Ward 12 changed with the last election. Ward 12 will be comprised of the communities of Shepard, Riverbend, Quarry Park, Douglasglen, McKenzie Towne, New Brighton, Copperfield, Mahogany, Auburn Bay, Seton and Cranston.
Ward 12 is the fastest growing area in the entire city. With that comes great opportunity, but also a number of challenges. I am committed to working hard to make sure that the residents of Ward 12 get the absolute best value for their tax dollars. This means building better communities for the next generation of Calgarians and investing in transportation infrastructure that will help address deficiencies in our capacity to move over 110,000 people that live south of Glenmore Trail and east of the Bow River.
I am committed to:
- Being an ‘agent for change’ in Council by pushing the City to consistently be open and transparent.
- Finding better and creative ‘outside the box’ ways of engaging Calgarians and increasing the level of involvement of citizens in local government decision-making.
- Advocating for important infrastructure investments that help sustain additional growth in southeast Calgary.
- Finding value in your tax dollars by working hard to keep your taxes low and ensuring that your tax dollars add value to the lives of Calgarians.
